Jason Statham and Vinnie Jones Reunite on Viva la Madness
Jason Statham has reunited with Vinnie Jones on the set of Viva la Madness, Guy Ritchie's crime thriller currently filming in London. First announced in 2015, the project serves as a follow-up to the 2004 thriller Layer Cake and is adapted from the sequel novel by Layer Cake author J.
J. Connolly; Statham takes over the anonymous hero role first played by Daniel Craig. A new behind-the-scenes look shows the pair together again, filming an action sequence that seemingly involves fleeing, balaclava-sporting villains and channels the director's trademark gangster tone.
Their reunion follows earlier collaborations—Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, Revolver—and more recent Statham action films such as Wrath of Man and Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre. The source novel moves from London low-life to Caribbean high-life and Venezuelan cartels, with trans-Atlantic drug deals, money laundering and high-tech electronic fraud pulling the hero back into the drug game.
