Jason Statham Thriller Homefront Climbs Netflix U.S. Charts
Jason Statham's 2013 thriller Homefront has climbed the Netflix U.S. streaming charts more than a decade after its theatrical release. The film moved from eighth on February 6, 2026, to third, behind The Investigation of Lucy Letby and the 2018 rom-com Overboard.
Based on Chuck Logan’s novel, it follows former DEA agent Phil Broker, who relocates to a bayou town with his daughter only to face drugs and violence and the sociopathic druglord Gator Bodine (James Franco), forcing him back into action. Sylvester Stallone originally wrote Homefront as a Rambo sequel and the project was shelved for a decade; he stayed on as producer and handed the lead to Statham.
Statham has said, "I could never be Rambo, if he was offering me Rambo I’d turn it down. I could not fill those boots. He’s too good at what he does. Although there is a great element of Sly in this, he adapted it for me. It’s impossible to be that guy. He gave a lot of thought to that." Directed by Gary Fleder, Homefront was released November 27, 2013, and runs 100 minutes.
