Jason Statham's Shelter Tops Digital Movie Charts

Shelter, Jason Statham's latest action thriller, has become the most popular movie on digital platforms after its release on services including Apple TV and the Amazon Store. Directed by Ric Roman Waugh, the film underperformed at the box office but has found a strong audience online, even besting Disney's Zootopia 2 on the digital charts.

It reached number one on the Amazon Store in the U.S. and launched at number one on the Apple TV Store before being overtaken by Alvin and the Chipmunks, where it now sits in second place. Statham plays Michael Mason, a man living in isolation on the Scottish Isles with a troubled past.

After rescuing a girl from the sea, Mason's home is attacked by a military group, prompting him to hunt down those who sent the soldiers so he can return to a peaceful life. The cast also includes Bill Nighy, Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Harriet Walter, Bronson Webb and Bryan Vigier.
