Former Manchester United striker Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez shared an emotional reaction on social media after watching footage of Punch, a baby macaque at Ichikawa City Zoo. The 37-year-old posted clips to his 6.3 million Instagram followers showing the infant monkey, rejected by its parents, seeking comfort from a stuffed orangutan toy.

The videos show Punch being pushed away by older monkeys while he drags his cuddly companion into a corner to sleep. Hernandez was visibly overcome and added a self-deprecating caption: "Why are you crying? It’s just a monkey…" He went on to offer a psychological reflection on Punch’s story: "Punch Monkey moved us because he is strong and he is real.

He tries to defend himself without fully knowing how, and we have all done this at some point. There is no malice in him only emotion, innocence, and a desire to exist." Hernandez, a free agent after leaving Chivas in January, continued: "He teaches us that: You can feel deeply without living in complaint.
