Jennifer Lopez says she's 'free' and 'happy' after Ben Affleck divorce

Jennifer Lopez says she finally feels "free" nearly two years after her split from Ben Affleck, telling a preview of her upcoming Nightline interview, "I’m in my happy era... I think, for the first time in my life, I feel like I’m free; I’m on my own. And it feels really good." The teaser clip aired on Good Morning America.

Lopez said she "didn’t really know" what that felt like since her early 20s, recalling there was always someone in her life and many things felt out of her control. She has learned to stop putting so much pressure on herself, saying she has "gotten to the point where I really trust myself and appreciate myself a little bit more," and that she "had to stop everything" and take "a year off from work" to heal, canceling tours and choosing to sit with what had happened.

Asked whether she was dating, she replied, "No. I’m not [seeing anyone]!" while noting she is still "surrounded by love." Lopez said she is a mom of graduates going to college, a showgirl, entertainer, actor and entrepreneur, and added, "I am happy.
