People reports that Jenny Lewis marked her 50th birthday by marrying her dog, Bobby Rhubarb, in a backyard ceremony she shared on X with photos from the event.

Lewis posted four Polaroid photos and wrote, "I married my dog for my 50th birthday…BLESS!" The images included two rainbow-striped cakes reading "JL50!" and "For BETTER or for WORSE I do!" She invited close friends and bandmates, including Morgan Nagler, Dave Scher and Phantom Planet's Alex Greenwald, and her Postal Service bandmate Ben Gibbard reportedly joined to perform "Such Great Heights" at the reception, according to the Independent. Fans left congratulatory and light-hearted messages, such as "Muzzle tov" and jokes about dogs and the seven-year itch.

Bobby Rhubarb has been a subject of Lewis's music, inspiring her 2021 song "Puppy and a Truck," later re-released on her 2023 LP Joy'All, which includes the line "Like a shot of good luck." Lewis has previously said in a 2023 interview with Rolling Stone that she adopted him in her 40s during a difficult period and that caring for the dog opened her up in unexpected ways. The social post shared the ceremony photos and fan responses but offered no further details about any follow-up plans.
