Jensen Ackles wraps filming on WWII-era The Boys prequel Vought Rising
Jensen Ackles rarely shares life updates on social media, so his recent post drew attention: he posted a "Thank You" video as filming wrapped on the first season of the WWII-era prequel Vought Rising. While waiting for a team of five to help him get into his tight costume, he thanked fans, cast and crew in the post's caption: "Finishing out with a bang!
It’s been an absolute thrill ride. Thanks to the crew and cast and all those that gave so much time and energy to make this happen. You’re all a bunch of psychos…and I love you for it." Vought Rising will continue the story of Soldier Boy beyond The Boys. Ackles has played the character since Season 3, when Soldier Boy was revealed to be alive after being presumed dead; his arc saw him hunt former teammates, discover Homelander was his son, and be put back on ice by the government.
At the end of Season 4, Homelander brought him out of retirement, leaving viewers unsure what the monstrous Supe has planned for his father in the final season.
