Jeremy Allen White's 'The Iron Claw' Scores Netflix Streaming Date

Jeremy Allen White’s film The Iron Claw will premiere on Netflix on Feb. 19. White, who spent 10 seasons on Shameless, rose to broader prominence with FX’s The Bear, winning both Golden Globe and Emmy Awards for his portrayal of Carmine Berzatto. In The Iron Claw, White plays Kerry Von Erich opposite Zac Efron, Harris Dickinson, Stanley Simons and Holt McCallany.

Set in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the story follows patriarch Jack "Fritz" Von Erich as he pushes his sons into professional wrestling; a string of tragedies leaves only one of the four brothers surviving their pursuit of fame. Written and directed by Sean Durkin, the film sits at an 89% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 94% audience score.

The National Board of Review named it Best Ensemble, but it did not receive nominations from the Golden Globes or the Academy, a situation made tougher by competition from films such as Oppenheimer and Poor Things.
