Playwright Jeremy O. Harris confronted OpenAI chief Sam Altman at the Vanity Fair Oscar party on Sunday, accusing him of being a Nazi and calling him the "Goebbels of the Trump administration." The encounter happened amid a crowd that included Michael B. Jordan, Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, Teyana Taylor, Zoe Saldaña, Chase Infiniti and Colman Domingo; Altman was photographed entering the event at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Harris later emailed that it was late and he had "a few too many martinis," saying he "misspoke" when he used the Goebbels reference and that "I should've said Friedrich Flick." Flick was a German industrialist whose businesses had a symbiotic relationship with the Nazi Party, a relationship that helped the regime while enriching Flick; he was found guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity at the Nuremberg Trials.

There is no reason to believe Altman is associated with the Nazi Party. Altman responded calmly at the party.
