Jesse Lingard close to Corinthians debut after first training session
Jesse Lingard is on the verge of making his debut for Corinthians after beginning a tailored training program in Sao Paulo. The 33-year-old, who left Seoul in December, was seen at the CT Joaquim Grava on Wednesday and spent his first day working indoors on strength and conditioning to accelerate his match fitness.
He is not yet registered to play while the club finalises a work visa and other bureaucratic details. Initial physical assessments suggest he will need at least a week of intensive training before being deemed sharp enough for competitive action. If the move is completed, Lingard would reunite with Memphis Depay, with whom he played 31 games at Manchester United in 2015-16.
