Apple TV drama The Morning Show has added former Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams to its cast. He will play Vernon, UBN’s newest Head of News, described as a brash pot-stirrer with a talent for grabbing and keeping an audience.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon will return, and Jeff Daniels is set to join as a self-made billionaire and founder of a well-known investment firm. Other regulars include Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell and Karen Pittman. The series was renewed for a fifth season before its fourth had premiered; that fourth season, which aired in fall 2025, drew both praise for a comeback and criticism that it was drifting toward soap opera after a weaker third year.

The Morning Show remains a strong performer on the streamer. It ranks as the tenth most-watched show on Apple TV in the U.S. and sits inside the global top ten, reaching as high as sixth in Venezuela and Armenia. The series is available to stream on Apple TV.
