Jill Duggar says she was 'shocked' after brother Joseph's arrest
Jill Duggar and her husband, Derick Dillard, released a statement after news of her brother Joseph Duggar's arrest. They said they were 'shocked' and first learned of his detention via a text from a friend who messaged them about media reports that he allegedly confessed to molesting a juvenile female in 2020.
The couple described themselves as heartbroken and posted the message on their family blog; Jill also shared it on Instagram with a broken heart emoji. They wrote that they 'strongly condemn abuse,' support the rule of law and hope that justice will be achieved.
Their statement said their hearts go out to the innocent juvenile victim and her family and that they pray God will give her strength, comfort and hope and that she be able to get all the help and support she needs and deserves. The duo sent love to Joseph's wife, Kendra, and their four children, and said they pray those family members feel loved and supported as they process and grieve.
