Episode two of the final season sends heartbreak through the Ridge when a sudden, horrific tragedy upends Claire, Jamie, Brianna, Roger, Ian and Rachel, a sharp reminder of how precious and fleeting life can be. There is little time to grieve: Rachel’s delivery is relatively uneventful, with Ian at her side, and the episode shifts from that trauma to the quiet joy of a new baby.

Both John Bell and Izzy Meikle‑Small described mixed emotions when they wrapped the series. Meikle‑Small said she felt warm and grateful and only cried later, while Bell, wrapped last, kept his composure until seeing Caitriona Balfe become emotional and then allowed himself a tear; they noted the cast had “compartmentalized” much of the season until the final moments.
