John Legend experienced a full-circle moment on The Voice: Battle of Champions premiere on February 23. Aaron LaVigne earned a 2-Chair Turn from Legend and Kelly Clarkson after covering Foreigner's 'Feels Like the First Time,' and both coaches vied to add him to their teams.

Legend admitted he turned later than Clarkson, saying, "Your voice has, like, a gentleness to it and I was a little bit worried that it wasn't gonna 'cut through.' And then, by the end, you showed us that you can really wail. Have you been performing [for] a long time?" LaVigne revealed a deeper connection: both men were from Ohio and had played the role of Jesus in productions of Jesus Christ Superstar — LaVigne on its 50th anniversary tour, and Legend in the NBC live production.
