John Stamos debuts bold blonde highlights in Instagram makeover

People reports John Stamos shared a dramatic new look with bold blonde highlights in an Instagram post on Tuesday, Jan. 13. The post, captioned "Trust the process," included photos and videos showing his hair sectioned under aluminum foil, hairstylist Riawna Capri lightening the sections, clips of his hair being washed and final shots of Stamos checking out the finished style as Capri tousled his hair.

The actor and Capri also filmed a Reel in which she mouthed along to a Kim Kardashian clip; Stamos overlaid the video with the text, "me still talking about the mom group drama," a reference to Ashley Tisdale French's viral The Cut essay that fans linked to past photos of a friend group including Hilary Duff, Gaby Dalkin, Meghan Trainor and Mandy Moore.

Several commenters compared the transformation to his Full House character Jesse Katsopolis, who was known for being particular about his hair. Stamos has a history of hair experiments, including a self-cut video from January 2017, and he recently marked his 62nd birthday with a rooftop shower post in an August 2025 Instagram entry, writing, "A rooftop birthday shower in NYC to start the day, and the love of family and friends to carry me through," and, "At 62, I’ve learned the best things in life can’t be washed away…laughter, love, and gratitude.
