Jorge Jesus ties Al-Nassr future to Cristiano Ronaldo
Jorge Jesus has made renewing his Al-Nassr contract contingent on Cristiano Ronaldo remaining at the club. Al-Riyadiyah say the coach will not discuss a new deal, which expires at the end of the season, until he has a clearer picture of Ronaldo’s future and is not expected to agree fresh terms if the forward is allowed to leave.
Ronaldo has missed Al-Nassr’s last two matches in a dispute over how the Saudi Public Investment Fund distributes funds among its teams, with Karim Benzema’s move cited as the final straw. The forward had wanted more arrivals in the winter window as the club chases the Saudi Pro League title; Jesus has also been frustrated after waiting for two signings he requested since January.
The striker appears to be relaxing his strike and has returned to training, with A Bola pencilling him in for selection against Al-Fateh while he will not travel for the Asian Champions League 2 match in Turkmenistan.
