The Justice Department said it looked into sexual misconduct allegations tied to President Trump and Jeffrey Epstein but did not find credible information to merit further investigation, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche told CNN. The comment came after the administration released about three million pages of documents from the Epstein inquiry, and The New York Times identified more than 5,300 files that reference Mr.

Trump and related terms. The files, which include salacious and unverified claims as well as many publicly available materials, contain more than 38,000 references to Mr. Trump, his wife and Mar-a-Lago, the Times said. Many of the documents are news articles and other records that had been in Mr.

Epstein’s inbox; the Times found no direct communications between Mr. Trump and Mr. Epstein in the newly released files, and few files date to the early 2000s when the men were friends. The agency’s records include unverified tips compiled by the F.B.I.’s National Threat Operations Center that accuse Mr.

Trump and Mr. Epstein of sexual abuse, but the F.B.I. summary the Times reviewed does not contain corroborating information. The newly released materials also include interview notes and transcripts in which some victims recall interactions involving Mr. Trump; one handwritten note from September 2019 says a victim remembered being taken in a dark green car to Mar-a-Lago to meet Mr.
