Compact K3 Ultramulti keychain multitool impresses with many features and low price
ZDNET tested the K3 Ultramulti, a palm-sized aluminum multitool flashlight that combines an 800-lumen LED with several other functions aimed at everyday carry (EDC) use.
The device includes a UV light useful for spotting counterfeit currency, activating UV adhesives, making glow-in-the-dark paint visible, and detecting leaks with UV dye, as well as a laser pointer and a multicolor RGB side LED for creative illumination.
A surprise feature is a built-in lighter on the bottom used for lighting cigarettes, campfires and log burners. The unit is powered by a 750mAh battery charged via USB-C; ZDNET observed roughly a week of typical use between charges.
Carry options include a lanyard hole, pocket/hat clip and a side magnet. The manufacturer rates the K3 as IP68 for dust and water resistance, and ZDNET's testing found it handled outdoor use without issue.
The reviewer was impressed by the K3's performance and value, calling it a good cheap keychain light that held up through weeks of use. However, ZDNET notes it is not as rugged as premium alternatives such as the Olight ArkPro Ultra, which is built to withstand heavier daily abuse.
