Karl Urban’s 2011 Vampire Epic Priest Is Now Streaming Free on Tubi
Priest, released theatrically in 2011, stars Paul Bettany as a warrior priest who must rescue his niece from an evil vampire. The film blends cyberpunk elements and sci‑fi Western tropes, features an animated sequence directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, and was helmed by Scott Stewart, who drew inspiration from John Wayne’s The Searchers.
Karl Urban appears as the antagonist alongside Maggie Q, Cam Gigandet, Lily Collins, Stephen Moyer and Christopher Plummer. Priest grossed nearly $80 million worldwide against a reported $67 million budget and was regarded as an underperformer; it holds a 16% score on Rotten Tomatoes, whose consensus called it a "derivative blend of sci-fi, action, and horror." Stewart had previously made Legion, another Bettany collaboration that grossed more than $65 million against a $26 million budget.
You can watch Priest on Tubi this month. Bettany most recently starred in a television adaptation of Amadeus, playing Salieri opposite Will Sharpe as Mozart.
