Keane slams Liverpool as 'bad champions' after Tottenham draw
After a 1-1 draw with Tottenham at Anfield, former Manchester United captain Roy Keane delivered a blunt assessment of Arne Slot’s Liverpool, calling them "bad champions" and questioning the squad’s mentality and preparations following last season’s title success.
Keane highlighted the scale of the decline, noting Liverpool sit 21 points behind Arsenal, and criticised what he sees as behind-the-scenes problems and a lack of dressing-room chemistry. He also pointed to nine league defeats this season and accused the squad of having celebrated last year’s triumph for too long.
Dominik Szoboszlai issued a stark warning to team-mates after the draw, a message Keane echoed when he said: "I think there are issues going on in the background; I think there are bigger issues... I don’t know if they are all on the same page and there doesn't seem to be that chemistry with the players." Liverpool are fifth, on 49 points from 30 matches, two points behind Aston Villa in fourth and one ahead of Chelsea in sixth, with eight games remaining.
