Keanu Reeves' Speed Is a Streaming Hit on Hulu

Speed was recently added to Hulu and has climbed to seventh place on the streamer's weekly movie chart. Directed by Jan de Bont, the 1990s action film stars Keanu Reeves alongside Sandra Bullock and Jeff Daniels. Reeves plays Jack Traven, who must disarm a bomb attached to a moving bus that will explode if the vehicle drops below 60 miles per hour.

Dennis Hopper appears as Howard Payne, the terrorist responsible for the bus bomb and other attacks across the city. The performances are praised, the script is described as tightly written and perfectly paced, and the practical stunts have aged well. Speed grossed a reported $350 million at the worldwide box office.

A sequel, Speed 2: Cruise Control, followed three years later with Sandra Bullock returning and Jason Patric and Willem Dafoe in supporting roles; Keanu Reeves did not appear. Set on a cruise ship, that follow-up was poorly received and holds a 4% Rotten Tomatoes critic score and a 16% audience rating.
