On Tuesday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson said American Idol had lied about the $1 million check she was supposed to receive after becoming the competition’s very first winner. She raised the issue while appearing with Daniel Radcliffe and reality star Rob Rausch, who revealed he still hasn’t received $220,800 won on The Traitors.

Clarkson recalled the show saying, "Oh, you win a million dollars," and insisted, "No, you didn't. They lied. It was like a million dollars' worth of investment in you." She added that she never received the car the show had promised, noting her own car had been bashed in and she couldn’t afford the deductible.

Clarkson said Clay Aiken, who finished runner-up on season two, did get a car — and his mom did too — prompting her to recall thinking, "What the f–k!" Radcliffe suggested early winners should be retroactively upgraded if prizes improve, but Clarkson pushed back: "No, it was supposed to be the prize then, OK?
