Kevin Warsh named in DOJ Epstein files as Fed nomination draws scrutiny
Kevin Warsh, President Donald Trump’s newly nominated pick to lead the US Federal Reserve, is named in the latest batch of Jeffrey Epstein-related documents released this week by the Department of Justice. The files link Warsh to a 2010 “St. Barth’s Christmas” event and were disclosed one day after Trump confirmed him as his choice to replace Jerome Powell.
According to multiple confirmed reports, Warsh’s name appears in a single email from a publicist to Epstein listing 43 people invited to the gathering. Reporting stresses there is no evidence in the files that Warsh met Epstein, attended the event, or engaged in any criminal activity, and the appearance of a name in the documents does not imply wrongdoing.
As of January 31, Warsh had not publicly commented on the disclosure. The Justice Department said the release included more than three million pages of documents and thousands of videos and images as part of what officials described as the final mandated release. The files reference many public figures, including Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Melania Trump and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and in several cases show social invitations or email correspondence rather than evidence of criminal conduct.
Survivors of Epstein’s abuse criticized the release, saying victims’ identities were exposed while alleged abusers remained protected through redactions.
