Kim Kardashian says kids and different lifestyles explain less time with Jonathan Cheban
People reports that Kim Kardashian, 45, said on the Wednesday, Jan. 21 episode of her sister Khloé’s podcast, Khloé In Wonderland, that she and longtime friend Jonathan "FoodGod" Cheban, 51, are still close and that "I love Jonathan."
During the episode, Kim recalled Cheban helping her pose for paparazzi early in her career, took out her phone to call him and noted, "I think people think that we don't talk." They FaceTimed and Cheban answered from a dinner in Miami; after the call Kim said, "Jonathan and I are good," explaining, "Here's the thing, I had kids." Kim shares daughters North, 12, Chicago, 8, and sons Saint, 10, and Psalm, 6, with ex-husband Kanye West.
They discussed differing lifestyles — Kim said, "Jonathan is not going to come and sit around Calabasas all day. He's like always on the move," and Khloé added, "Especially when someone else doesn't have kids" and, "It's not like you can do play dates with your kids. I get that." Nearly a year before Kim's comments, Cheban rejected claims of a falling out in a March 2025 interview with Us Weekly, saying, "we don't see each other as much, but we talk all the time," that they are "absolutely" still close friends and, "We're going to be friends forever — and it's fun."
