Kimberly Van Der Beek reacts to Eric Dane's death with emotional tribute
Just a little over a week after losing her husband, Kimberly Van Der Beek offered a touching tribute to Eric Dane on Instagram. “RIP @realericdane. We love you,” Kimberly, 44, wrote via her Instagram Stories, tagging Dane’s widow, Rebecca Gayheart. “Will miss our guys laughing at Christmas parties together.” She also reposted a photo of the two couples posing together at the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball in June 2017.
Dane died on Thursday, Feb. 19, at age 53 after a brief battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). His family’s statement honored his “courageous” fight and said he became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, “determined to make a difference for others facing the same fight.” The statement added, “He will be deeply missed, and lovingly remembered always,” and noted he was surrounded by “his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters” in his final days; the family asked for privacy.
Van Der Beek’s husband, James, died on Feb. 11 at age 48 after a nearly three-year battle with colorectal cancer.
