Amazon announced that King of Meat will shut down its servers on April 9, 2026, saying the game "has unfortunately not found the audience we hoped for." Players can continue to access all existing content until then, and everyone who bought the game will receive a full refund in the coming weeks; the game is no longer available for purchase.

Leadership expected at least 100,000 concurrent players, but King of Meat reached an all-time peak of just 320 on Steam. Two months after launch, Glowmade laid off an undisclosed number of employees. Amazon had previously announced in October 2025 that it was shifting away from big-budget development and MMOs to focus on its Luna cloud platform and AI-driven projects such as Courtroom Chaos Featuring Snoop Dogg.

Players can play until April 9, cannot buy more Stamps but can use those they already have, and refunds will be processed automatically; a King of Meat shutdown FAQ is available for questions.
