Kompany 'can't explain' Kane's 'unbelievable' goal as he equals Henry
Harry Kane has equalled Thierry Henry’s Champions League goal tally after a masterclass against Atalanta. Vincent Kompany hailed the England captain's movement as "unbelievable, world-class," saying he "can’t even explain his second goal."
The Bayern boss was amazed by Kane’s ability to score so quickly after returning to the starting lineup; the striker had been a substitute for the previous two matches after suffering a calf injury.
Kompany also praised his players’ relentless approach and their responsibility to the fans. “I’m always proud of what the boys deliver - they perform, score goals, and never stop,” he said. “They also think about the fans and always want to put on a show. It was a good day for the club.”
The victory sets up a quarter-final meeting with Real Madrid. Kompany stressed the magnitude of the clash and the need for belief, noting: “Everything is huge at Real Madrid, but also at Bayern Munich. The history of both clubs is massive - it will be something very special.”
