Collider reports that KPop Demon Hunters won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture, Animated at the 83rd Golden Globes.

The Netflix release, produced by Sony Pictures Animation under a co-production agreement with Netflix, was co-directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans and was released June 20, 2025 with a 96-minute runtime. The film, which Kang first pitched in 2018, became Netflix's most-watched film with over 325 million viewers and had earlier won Best Animated Feature at the Critics Choice Awards.

The soundtrack went platinum, became the first soundtrack to place four songs on the Billboard Hot 100 and saw the single "Golden" reach #1; singers Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami are now Grammy nominees. Voice cast members include Arden Cho, May Hong, Ji-young Yoo, with additional voices from Ahn Hyo-seop, Yunjin Kim, Daniel Dae Kim, Ken Jeong, and Lee Byung-hun.

The win has HUNTR/X looking like a leading contender for an Oscar later this year, and a sequel is not planned until 2029. The brand has expanded into Fortnite and a Dungeons & Dragons game book Kickstarter, and the Golden Globe-winning film is available to stream on Netflix.
