Kyle Sandilands sacked as Kyle and Jackie O show cancelled

ARN Media has issued a notice of termination to Kyle Sandilands and his company Quasar Media and cancelled the top‑rating Kyle and Jackie O show after an on‑air argument last month between Sandilands and co‑host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson. The broadcaster said Sandilands’ behaviour during the broadcast of 20 February 2026 constituted serious misconduct and a breach of its services agreement, and that he had been given 14 days to remedy the breach; the deadline was midnight on Tuesday.

Sandilands called the decision a breach of his rights and vowed to fight, saying his lawyers had told ARN the termination would be invalid. He said ARN had known how he worked when it signed his deal and pointed to years of number‑one ratings and hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.

He has apologised to Henderson for the dressing down and accused ARN of failing to run a "genuine process".
