LA Olympics Chief Keeps Low Profile in Milan After Epstein Files
Nytimes reports that Casey Wasserman, chairman of the 2028 Olympic organizing committee, kept a low profile in Milan after Justice Department documents showed he exchanged flirtatious emails with Ghislaine Maxwell in 2003. He said he "never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein" and added, "I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light." The Justice Department has not accused him of wrongdoing.
Two Los Angeles County supervisors, Janice Hahn and Lindsey Horvath, and five members of the Los Angeles City Council have denounced his involvement and called for him to step down, but the nonprofit LA28 board controls leadership and Mayor Karen Bass has declined to take a position.
