Lae'zel's actor shows why Baldur's Gate 3 has a new rival in Solasta 2
Solasta 2 arrives in early access on March 12, and new promotional videos with Ben Starr and Devora Wilde put the game's character creator on full display. The pair play siblings Rickard and Deorcas Colwall, who will support the player’s customizable party of four, and the studio says the game continues to use tabletop Dungeons & Dragons combat—this time with the 2024 ruleset.
Players can pick from six classes and tailor both a character’s appearance and stats. In one clip Starr and Wilde design characters for each other under a few playful constraints. Wilde, who often voices strong, intimidating figures, was recast as something smaller and gentler, and the two delighted in the creator’s absurd options—Wilde dragging Starr’s eyebrows all over the place, and Starr tinting Wilde’s character an outlandish yellow and quipping she looks “radioactive.” The developer describes the tool as “massively expanded,” and another video shows deep customization for stats and looks.
