Lamine Yamal will gift hat-trick match ball to his mum
Lamine Yamal says he will give the match ball to his mother after scoring a hat-trick in Barcelona's 4-1 win over Villarreal, a victory that moved the Blaugrana four points clear of Real Madrid and was capped by a late Robert Lewandowski goal. Yamal dominated at Camp Nou, scoring three left-footed strikes into the far corner.
The opener followed Fermin Lopez robbing Pape Gueye and slipping Yamal through; he opened his body and slotted under the goalkeeper in under half an hour. The second, the pick of the bunch, saw him drive in from the right, use step-overs to beat Sergi Cardona, chop the ball over Alberto Moleiro and wrap a scorching effort into the top-left.
After Villarreal pulled one back from a corner, Pedri's through ball set Yamal up to curl his third into the bottom corner; he was then replaced by Roony Bardghji and received a standing ovation.
