Lawmen: Bass Reeves climbs back into global streaming top 10 on Paramount+
Collider reports that Taylor Sheridan’s 2023 western miniseries Lawmen: Bass Reeves has resurfaced on streaming, with all eight episodes available on Paramount+ and the show re-entering the global top 10 in several countries.
The eight-episode limited series, written by Chad Feehan and led by David Oyelowo, dramatizes the life of Bass Reeves, one of the first Black U.S. marshals west of the Mississippi. Lawmen: Bass Reeves earned a 79% critics score and a 93% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and also stars Lauren E. Banks, Demi Singleton, Forrest Goodluck, Barry Pepper, Dennis Quaid and the late Donald Sutherland. Sheridan did not receive a writing credit but is said to have been heavily involved in shaping the story.
The show ran for a single season in 2023 and is regarded as one of Sheridan’s quietly successful projects. Sheridan’s recent projects include Yellowstone and Landman—Landman just wrapped its second season and has been renewed for a third—and he has two upcoming Paramount+ releases: Marshals, which will begin streaming March 1 after a CBS premiere, and The Madison, which will begin streaming March 14. All episodes of Lawmen: Bass Reeves are streaming on Paramount+.
