Leaked synopsis suggests Wario may appear in Super Mario Galaxy Movie

A description posted by U.K. theater chain Everyman suggests Wario joins Bowser Jr. as an antagonist in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Everyman's listing reads, "After defeating Bowser and saving Brooklyn, Mario faces Wario and Bowser Jr.'s evil alliance," and notes the film pits Mario, Luigi and Yoshi against a goop-powered Bowser Jr.

Nintendo and Illumination have not confirmed Wario's involvement, and he has not appeared in trailers or the first wave of toys. The toy lineup has, however, all-but confirmed an appearance from ROB. Other chains, including AMC, Regal and Alamo Drafthouse, posted a more routine synopsis that emphasizes production details—producers Chris Meledandri and Shigeru Miyamoto, directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, screenwriter Matthew Fogel and composer Brian Tyler—and notes Universal Pictures will release the film worldwide.

The movie draws on characters from multiple Mario games, featuring Mouser, Birdo and Clawgrip from Super Mario Bros. 2, Big Bertha and Frog Luigi from Super Mario Bros.
