Lego to release official Mario minifigure in 2027

Nintendo confirmed on March 10 that an official Lego Mario minifigure will arrive in 2027. A short teaser showed a Mario figure popping out of a green pipe with the line "New form unlocked! New sets coming in 2027," and indicated the new figure will come alongside sets that appear separate from the interactive electronic Super Mario playsets.

Lego has produced Mario-themed sets since 2020, most tied to an interactive Super Mario line built around a brick-built figure with a screen and sensors. That theme later added interactive characters such as Peach and Luigi, but it never included a traditional minifigure-style Mario.

The teaser suggests the minifigure will use a new head mold and hat piece, while the lower legs appear to be printed rather than dual-molded. It also hints at minifig-scale recreations of Mario locations in 2027, but additional details remain limited and fans will have to wait for more information.
