At CES 2026 LG previewed two new ultraportable laptops, the Gram Pro 17 and Gram Pro 16, emphasizing lighter weight and travel-friendly durability.

The major change is a new in‑house material LG calls “ultra‑light Aerominum,” which the company says reduces weight while improving structural strength, scratch resistance and finish.

LG has not released full specifications. The company pointed to its 2025 models for context and suggested the Aerominum models could shave pounds off their predecessors, possibly bringing the 17‑inch model near or below three pounds and the 16‑inch closer to 2.5 pounds.

LG also claims the Gram Pro 17 will be “the world’s lightest 17‑inch RTX laptop,” referring to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 GPU. That combination of thinness and power raises concerns about heat, and LG will need a capable cooling solution.

Other announced features include Intel Core Ultra processors, an upgraded AI assistant and support for LG Link for file sharing and screen/content transfer. LG has not shared pricing or a launch date.

Display choices may influence buyers: the 16‑inch model uses a WQXGA+ (2,880 x 1,800) OLED panel, while the 17‑inch model uses a WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600) LCD. LG positions both as strong options for lightweight work and travel.
