LG revealed two new ultraportable laptops at CES 2026: the Gram Pro 17 and the smaller Gram Pro 16, both built around a new in‑house material called Aerominum. LG says Aerominum makes the chassis substantially lighter while improving structural durability, scratch resistance and finish, positioning the models as travel-friendly machines.

Exact specs weren’t released. LG pointed to the current 2025 models for context: the Gram Pro 17 measures 14.9 x 10.4 x 0.57 inches and weighs 3.26 pounds, while the Gram Pro 16 measures 14.1 x 9.9 x 0.5 inches and weighs 2.73 pounds. LG expects the 2026 models to drop in weight, with the 17‑inch possibly falling to or below three pounds and the 16‑inch possibly near 2.5 pounds.

LG also billed the Gram Pro 17 as "the world's lightest 17‑inch RTX laptop," with "RTX" referring to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 GPU. That combination of thin chassis and discrete GPU raises cooling concerns, and LG has not detailed its thermal solution. Other announced features include Intel Core Ultra processors, an upgraded AI assistant and support for LG Link for seamless file sharing, screen monitoring and content transfer.

Display choices are a key differentiator: the 16‑inch model uses a WQXGA+ (2,880 x 1,800) OLED panel, while the 17‑inch uses a WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600) LCD. LG recommended the 16‑inch for better visual output. LG has not announced pricing or a launch date for either model.
