Liam Rosenior confirmed as Chelsea manager after Strasbourg spell
Goal reports Liam Rosenior has been confirmed as the new manager of Chelsea, calling the move to Stamford Bridge an "honour" he could not refuse and citing a desire to return home to his family.
The 41-year-old was confirmed on Tuesday morning as Enzo Maresca's replacement after days of speculation. Rosenior leaves Strasbourg following an emotional final game, saying the call from West London changed everything and noting the club are "Club World Cup champions." He described his time in France as "the best 18 months of my professional career here at Strasbourg."
Rosenior said he had attracted interest beyond Chelsea, adding "It's not just Chelsea, I have had interest from other Champion League clubs." The appointment is framed as part of the BlueCo model and he will be charged with adapting his tactical approach to the Premier League immediately; as he put it, "Whoever comes in will be of very high calibre."
