Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior praised Wrexham after the Blues survived a scare at the Racecourse Ground, winning 4-2 after extra time thanks to late strikes from Alejandro Garnacho and Joao Pedro. Wrexham had taken the lead twice through Sam Smith and Callum Doyle, and Josh Acheampong’s late equaliser forced the game into extra time after Pedro Neto struck the crossbar.

Rosenior called Wrexham "magnificent" for their energy and bravery, saying they were pushed all the way and that the match showed why the FA Cup is special. He added that Chelsea need to manage games better in such emotionally charged ties while noting the team’s broader positive run.

The tie turned on two VAR interventions. George Dobson’s yellow card was upgraded to red after a pitchside review for a dangerous challenge on Alejandro Garnacho in the 93rd minute, and a late extra-time finish was ruled out when VAR found Chris Brunt fractionally offside.
