David Bailey, a former crypto adviser to the Trump administration and now CEO and chairman of KindlyMD, told attendees at the Bitcoin Investor Week conference in New York that political support for Bitcoin must go beyond rhetoric. “At the end of the day, liking Bitcoin is not enough,” he said, calling the Trump administration an important first step but urging concrete delivery rather than talk.

Bailey pointed to the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve executive order signed in March 2025 and noted the government has not begun accumulating Bitcoin beyond assets seized via illicit activity. “Last time I checked, we don’t even know how much Bitcoin we have exactly,” he said.

Arkham Research data shows the government holds 378,372 Bitcoin, worth approximately $22.48 billion at the time of publication, and White House adviser David Sacks has said purchasing would need to be handled in a “budget-neutral” way. He argued that personal support from politicians does not automatically translate into policy change.
