'Lilo & Stitch 2' Gets Release Date From Disney
Disney has scheduled Lilo & Stitch 2 to open in theaters on May 26, 2028, placing the sequel on Memorial Day weekend. The release date was announced by new CEO Josh D'Amaro during a shareholders meeting on his first official day as CEO, which took effect on Mar.
18, 2026; D'Amaro also set a June 16, 2028 release for Incredibles 3. No other title is currently slated for that Memorial Day weekend, and it has not been confirmed whether director Dean Fleischer Camp will return. The live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch opened in theaters on May 23, 2025 and, despite mixed reviews, proved a box office success, grossing $423.8 million worldwide and $1.04 billion.
A sequel was announced to be in development that year on Jun. 26 — a nod to Stitch's experiment number — and Chris Sanders, creator of the original, will return to write the sequel's screenplay. Few plot details have been revealed.
