It's been almost 30 years since Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, and rumors of a sequel have persisted. Star Lisa Kudrow, who played Michele, spoke with Steve Weintraub at South by Southwest — where the new season of her revived HBO comedy The Comeback is set to debut — and offered encouraging news: she is on board and the project "is looking good." Kudrow was careful to note the film has not yet been officially greenlit.

"I don't know for sure, but it's looking good. I can say it's looking good right now," she said, adding that "it feels like [the studio] wants to do it, and then they have to decide if it makes sense for them." She also praised the sequel's script, written by Robin Schiff, who created the Romy and Michele characters: "I've read a script.

I laughed out loud like five or six times, which is huge. Or more than that even.
