Liverpool blew a chance to move into the Premier League's top four as they slumped to a 2-1 defeat at Wolves. After a subdued first half the Reds pinned their hosts back in the second but failed to convert possession into clear chances. Tolu Arokodare bullied Virgil van Dijk in the air and put Rodrigo Gomes through to score with Wolves' first meaningful shot, Mohamed Salah levelled from Jean-Ricner Bellegarde's misplaced pass, and a long-range Andre effort in injury time was deflected off Joe Gomez past Alisson for the winner at Molineux.

Player ratings singled out a number of underwhelming individual performances. Alisson was given 4/10 after being beaten by Gomes and for an awful clearance that led to the winner, while Virgil van Dijk also received 4/10 for being pushed aside for the opener and missing a late headed chance.
