Logan Paul Sells Illustrator Pikachu for $16.49 Million — Kotaku

Logan Paul sold his one-of-a-kind PSA 10 Illustrator Pikachu at auction for $16,492,000. The card was auctioned by Goldin alongside Paul’s PSA 10 1999 Charizard, a matching Blastoise, and a factory-sealed Base Set 1st Edition box. The Illustrator Pikachu was created in 1997 as part of an illustration contest in Japan, shows Pikachu with a paintbrush, and only 41 were printed.

Of those, only one has ever been graded PSA 10—the card Paul bought in 2022 for a total of $5.275 million, $4 million of it cash and the rest in the form of a PSA 9 version of the same card. He wore that card around his neck at Wrestlemania in 2022. The card’s market history has been volatile: a Las Vegas Raiders linebacker sold a CGC 9.5 for $672,000 and resigned from the NFL; a PSA 7 sold for $900,000; a PSA 8 went up for auction at $480,000 and received no bids; and a PSA 9 sold for $4,000,000 last year.

The $16,492,000 sale far exceeded those prior prices and set a new record.
