Lorwyn Eclipsed becomes Magic: The Gathering’s fastest-selling original set

Lorwyn Eclipsed is now the fastest-selling original Magic: The Gathering set of all time, a milestone that underscores the game's continued growth and shows it can thrive without relying on Universes Beyond crossovers. On a Feb. 10 earnings call presenting Hasbro's Q4 and full-year 2025 results, CEO Chris Cocks said Magic generated $1.7 billion in revenue last year.

He added that Lorwyn Eclipsed, released globally on Jan. 23, has outpaced last year's Tarkir: Dragonstorm, and that November 2025's Avatar: The Last Airbender ranks as the third best-selling Universes Beyond set behind The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth and Final Fantasy.

Hasbro executives rarely discuss dollar amounts for individual sets, though Cocks previously used $200 million as a benchmark: The Lord of the Rings reached that mark in six months, while Final Fantasy reportedly did so in a single day. It's all but certain that Lorwyn Eclipsed sales are nowhere near this mark.
