Polygon reports dedicated fans have recovered three previously lost levels in Super Monkey Ball Banana Splitz that are themed around Japanese model Yukie Kawamura's chest.

The stages are official bonus content released in Japan for some early copies of Banana Splitz and were originally unlocked by a special code that has since expired. A video from GVG breaks down how the levels were unearthed and shows full gameplay, noting that the designs turn Kawamura's chest into 3D obstacles and are centered on her.

GVG found the DLC exists in every copy of the game regardless of region and can be restored by using a homebrew PS Vita, downloading a few files, and adding them into the game with the Repatch plugin. The outlet also described the levels as low quality and abstract and said they are quite difficult, with players often completing them by breaking the stages rather than playing them normally; the trickiest barrier for most people is obtaining a PS Vita in 2026.
