'Louis Theroux: Inside the Manosphere' Is a Global Streaming Success on Netflix

Louis Theroux recently made his Netflix documentary debut with Louis Theroux: Inside the Manosphere. The film, which has only been out for a few days, is already performing strongly on the platform. The documentary goes inside the so-called Manosphere, an online subculture led by "alpha-male" influencers who have monetized extreme beliefs about masculinity and misogyny.

Theroux gained inside access to figures including Sneako, HSTikkyTokky, Justin Waller and Myron Gaines, and examines elements such as the (scam) financial courses they sell, the idea of "one way monogamy," and the misogynistic views they promote while profiting from adult actresses.

International Netflix users pushed the film up the charts: Inside the Manosphere is currently the fifth most popular movie on the platform worldwide, even as US viewers have yet to fully catch on. The Alan Ritchson-led action movie War Machine holds the top spot.
