Lucid Motors revealed a two-seater robotaxi concept called Lunar, a purpose-built vehicle without pedals or a steering wheel that features a large console screen. The company said Lunar shares a platform with its new midsize EVs to allow a quick production ramp and expects operating costs to be about 40% lower than current robotaxis, though it did not specify an operator.

The presentation also emphasized deeper ties with Uber. Lucid said it is in advanced discussions to scale Uber’s robotaxi vehicle platform, reminded audiences that it committed 20,000 Gravity units last year and noted Uber has invested $300 million in the company.

The firm reiterated that the commercial launch of Uber’s robotaxi service, in partnership with Nuro and Lucid, is on track for late 2026; Kai Stepper said Uber has received 80 Gravity SUVs over the past half year for data collection and testing in the San Francisco Bay Area.
