Lumie Bodyclock Glow 150 tops Guardian review of sunrise alarm clocks
The Guardian’s Filter tested 10 sunrise alarm clocks and named the Lumie Bodyclock Glow 150 the best overall, with the Momcozy Sunrise Echo singled out as the budget pick and the Lumie Bodyclock Spark 100 recommended for heavy sleepers. Other category winners included the Philips SmartSleep for late-night reading, the Lexon Mina Sunrise as a mini option, the Lumie Sunrise Alarm for gentle wakings and the Beurer Wake-up Light WL50 for couples.
The review explains sunrise alarms mimic dawn to kickstart the circadian rhythm and that not all models are equally bright or medically classified; the Lumie Bodyclock Glow 150 and the Lumie Bodyclock Spark 100 carry UK MDR 2002 and EU MDR 2017/745 medical classifications. Each device was used to wake the reviewer for at least two nights and assessed on brightness, how closely the glow resembled sunlight, audio quality and additional features such as sunset modes, app control, mood lighting and reading-light use.
The reviewer said the devices improved their mornings and that they now use one daily. The write-up also notes practical matters such as price, control fiddliness and app-only features (for example, the Blueair Mini Restful’s sunrise function is app‑controlled), and that some test units will be donated to Cat Action Trust 1977 because brands did not request returns.
