Man charged after allegedly threatening Vice President Vance at Disneyland
People reports that Marco Antonio Aguayo, a California resident, has been charged for making threats against Vice President JD Vance during the vice president’s family visit to the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim on July 12, according to a criminal complaint. The complaint says Aguayo, 22, posted comments on Disney’s official Instagram around 6:14 p.m., including, "Pipe bombs have been placed in preparation for J.D.
Vance’s arrival," "It’s time for us to rise up and you will be a witness to it," and, "Good luck finding all of them on time there will be bloodshed tonight and we will bathe in the blood of corrupt politicians." Investigators traced the comments to an account that no longer exists under the same username; police found and questioned him just before 11 p.m.
He initially denied the posts, saying his account had been hacked, later admitted to leaving the comments and said they were jokes, and surrendered his phone and computer, the complaint says. Aguayo was arrested on Jan. 16 and has been charged with threats against the president and successors to the presidency, a news release from the United States Attorney's Office for the Central District of California said; if convicted he faces up to five years in federal prison.
